Airtel Uganda Limited posts 41% jump in profit as revenue crosses Shs2.2 trillion

Airtel Uganda has reported a strong financial performance for the year ended December 31, 2025, with net profit rising by 41 percent, driven by double-digit growth in revenue and sustained expansion in data and mobile money services.

According to the company’s audited financial results, revenue increased by 13 percent to Shs2.23 trillion, up from Shs1.98 trillion recorded in 2024. The growth reflects continued customer acquisition, higher data consumption and increased usage of digital financial services.

Profit surges

Profit after tax climbed to Shs446.9 billion, compared to Shs316.7 billion the previous year. Operating profit rose 35 percent to Shs849.2 billion, up from Shs629.1 billion in 2024, underscoring improved operational efficiency despite rising costs.

However, finance costs increased to Shs222.9 billion from Shs192.4 billion, largely due to borrowing and lease-related obligations.

The telecom firm generated Shs1.01 trillion in net cash from operating activities, an increase from Shs879.9 billion in 2024, strengthening its liquidity position and supporting continued investment in network infrastructure.
