Housing Finance Bank Reiterates Support to Uganda Business Community
Business enterprises play a vital role in Uganda’s private sector, constituting over 90% of it and contributing at least 20% to the GDP while employing millions of Ugandans. However, these essential entities often face many challenges, necessitating support from financial institutions.
In recognition of this pivotal role, Housing Finance Bank recently organized a contractors’ forum that brought together leaders from various business sectors to provide feedback, share perspectives, and offer suggestions. This initiative aligns with the bank’s commitment to serving business needs and nurturing partnerships that promote enterprise growth while achieving a remarkable customer satisfaction rate of over 90% by 2027.
The event was led by a distinguished team, including Mr. Michael K. Mugabi, the Managing Director; Ms. Peace K. Ayebazibwe, the Executive Director; and Angela Ndawula, the Head of Business and Institutional Banking, along with other senior executives. The forum served as a valuable platform for in-depth discussions on the effectiveness and impact of Housing Finance Bank’s suite of business banking solutions covering trade, vehicle, and asset financing.
Mr. Michael Mugabi, the Managing Director of Housing Finance Bank, emphasized the bank’s commitment to continuous improvement. He stated, “As a bank, we have developed a robust customer value proposition but continually seek ways to enhance it. These gatherings enable us to actively listen and gather feedback, which, in turn, supports the refinement of our solutions to meet the real-world requirements of our valued customers.”
Angela Ndawula, Head of Business and Institutional Banking, highlighted the importance of collaboration in strengthening the bank and business community relationship. She stated, “Our commitment to the business community goes beyond financial transactions; it’s about building lasting partnerships that contribute to enterprise growth. This forum underscores our dedication to crafting banking solutions that genuinely address the needs of businesses and contractors in Uganda.“
Jonah Stanislaus, an official at the National Enterprise Corporation and a long-standing Housing Finance Bank customer, shared his perspective on the customer service forum. He praised the bank’s unwavering dedication to serving the Ugandan business community: “We have been banking with Housing Finance since 2010, particularly in vehicle and asset financing. We have witnessed their commitment to delivering tailored solutions significantly contributing to our business growth.”
