BUL Overcomes SC Villa to Secure Spot in FUFA Super 8 Final

BUL FC has made it to the final of the 2023 FUFA Super 8 tournament, emerging victorious over SC Villa in a semifinal clash held at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru. The Eastern Giants triumphed in a thrilling encounter that ended in a one-all draw in regular time, eventually claiming the win in a penalty shootout that concluded 6-5 in favor of BUL FC.

In the first half, Villa’s new signing, Peter Onzima from Busoga United FC, put his team in the lead with a goal in the 26th minute. However, BUL FC quickly responded, equalizing just before halftime with Samuel Ssekamatte converting a penalty awarded after a foul by defender Simon Mukisa on Reagan Kalyowa.

As the match ended in a draw, the outcome was determined through a penalty shootout. BUL FC’s goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa emerged as the hero, saving two penalties from Ronald Ssekiganda and Kenneth Semakula. BUL FC’s Ronald Muganga was the only player to miss a penalty, but his team secured a 6-5 victory in the shootout.

With this win, BUL FC advances to the final and will await the winner between KCCA FC and URA FC, who will face off in the other semifinal match.
